In 1950, just as the postwar economies and societies of Japan and Germany were settling down, the Germans held a calendar exhibition in Stuttgart and the Japanese held a similar event in Tokyo.
Now held alternately every year, these two exhibitions have greatly contributed to the development of printing, photographs, typography, and graphic design in the two nations, as well as the spread of calendars themselves.
This exhibit presents prize-winning calendars from Japan and Germany for the year 2002.
