Japan-Germany Calendar Exhibition 2003

In 1950, separate exhibitions were established in Japan and Germany to showcase the calendars produced within their borders. Later, in 1976, the two countries inaugurated the Japan-Germany Exchange Calendar Exhibition by exchanging selections from their respective national calendar competitions for a separate judgment. These exchanges and exhibitions have helped to popularize calendars and enhance graphic design in areas such as printing, photography, and typography in both countries.

Drawing on this distinguished history, this year's exhibition showcases masterpiece calendars drawn from a rigorous selection process. The judging bodies in each country convened at the end of 2002 to grant awards to nine Japanese calendars out of 83 sent to Germany, and six German calendars out of 59 sent to Japan.
