A Message from the Director

Oct. 2, 2018

This is an exhibition of packages.

We have the fourth-year anniversary of the "Modern Japan Package" exhibition this year. In order to improve the quality of packages and widely disseminate their positive messages to the society, this exhibition presents award-winning works in the competitions organized by the related three organizations.

Meanwhile, we feel that the public perception to packages has changed profoundly. The packages, which used to be just for wrapping, have evolved into one of the protagonists in social designs that are produced on their own. We think it is because the landscape and environment created by the packages for wrapping and shipping goods have become significantly more influential on our lives.

We would like you to pay attention to the feature article of JPDA Package Design Index 2018 in this time. That is an expression of "white." However, it is not a blank white. We have tried to depict a sensitive relationship diagram that is created by the color and image.

It is our pleasure if you come over to the venue and look at the most elaborately created packages at the exhibition. We are looking forward to your visit.
