Jōmon and Yayoi DNA in Japanese Package Design Exhibition will open

The Modern Japan Package Exhibition is held each year at the Museum. This year we will simultaneously host an event looking at packaging from a different perspective under the title of Complexity and Simplicity: Jōmon and Yayoi DNA in Japanese Package Design. Through this collaboration between the Museum and the Japan Package Design Association (JPDA), we are quietly confident that we have arranged an exhibition full of bold new ideas.

Under the two different design policies of Jomon and Yayoi and the complex and the simple, Japan’s modern package design has developed a broad field. In order to examine this, we have created an exhibition of around 140 items. We look forward to seeing how this new challenge will be received. The exhibition will be held until October 3 and we cordially welcome your visit to the Museum.
