Modern Japan Package 2021 Kicks Off

The annual Modern Japan Package exhibition, now in its seventh edition, showcases award-winning works from three packaging design competitions. The exhibition has been co-organized by the Printing Museum and the three industry bodies hosting the respective competitions.
Packaging solutions play vital roles in wide-raging needs including storing and transporting goods in addition to selling them to consumers, and are therefore constantly being developed and improved upon. Additionally, compatibility with the Sustainable Development Goals is fast becoming a major consideration for packaging in recent years, as demonstrated by quite a few of this year’s award-winning works, developed for instance with greater energy efficiency and smaller environmental footprints in mind.
Because it is indispensable to everyday life, packaging—from its visual concept and shape to materials and manufacturing processes—changes constantly in accordance with lifestyle and environmental shifts. It is hoped that this display of roughly 130 award-winning packages will inspire viewers to reflect on the relationship between society and day-to-day living. The organizers wish to deeply thank the award-winning designers and many others whose generous cooperation made this exhibition possible.
