temporary exhibition

World Book Design 2020-21
Dec. 18, 2021 (Sat) - Apr. 10, 2022 (Sun)
10:00 - 18:00
Exhibition of books that won the book design competition, “Best Book Design from all over the World,” and books that won national competitions in Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and China.
This exhibition features about 130 outstanding books that won the Best Book Design from all over the World competition in June 2021, the Japan Book Design Awards, and national competitions held in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and China. Visitors are offered the opportunity to appreciate the world’s best book designs and the art of bookmaking.
Even though several book design competitions were postponed, as many as 30 countries and regions participated in the Best Book Design from all over the World competition in 2021, just as every year. This year’s winners include three Swiss books, an Estonian book, and a Norwegian book.
To prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, you are required to wear disposable gloves distributed at the entrance before touching any of the displayed books.
*Not all of the competition winners will be exhibited, as they include books with a limited number of printed copies and scarce availability.
*Please be reminded that the exhibition may be canceled or postponed to prevent infection spread. Even when the exhibition is held, there will be restrictions on entry to the Museum.
