90 Years of Kinderbook
— The world of children traced through pictures and songs
Oct. 21, 2017 (Sat) - Jan. 14, 2018 (Sun)
10:00 - 18:00 (final admission: 17:30)
Do you know what Kinder books are read by children at kindergartens and preschools?
Kinder book was born as "Observational Picture Books Kinder Book" in November 1927 and will be turning 90 years old in 2017 since it was first published.
Kinder book was an early forerunner of monthly childcare picture books that were distributed directly to kindergartens and has been intimately connected to early childhood education for many generations.
Looking back over the long time that this magazine has been issued, the lives of the people at those times and the affection of the creators to the children is even now vividly conveyed.
With the improvements in printing technology, photographs could be added as well as the illustration that has been in the books from the very first issue. Combining photographs and illustrations, the expression has greatly changed.
The unknown world of Kinder book will be unveiled.
