No. 54008

Color scanner which was practically used in earnest for the first time in the world. It was completed by Time Inc., which bought patents that Eastman Kodak Company. owned. It was provided thereafter from PDI (Printing Developments Incorporated) established by Time Inc. Initially only leased, perhaps for fear of leaking the secrets of the internal mechanism, it was later sold and spread throughout the world. This machine is a most early HR type. Later, the popular MR type was released.
