temporary exhibition
Universal Design in Printing
Feb. 13, 2008 (Wed) - Apr. 19, 2008 (Sat)
10:00 - 18:00
It is said that some 80 percent of the information we gain from the physical world is obtained by way of our sense of sight. But our eyesight begins to weaken after we turn 40, and in Japan's aging society more than half of the population has already reached that stage. Printing that is both easy to read and easy to comprehend has become indispensable in Japan and throughout the world.
The letters and colors found in a variety of printed materials that we come into close contact with in our daily lives are presented in this exhibit in the hope that our visitors will gain an insight into the significance of Universal Design, and that society at large will subsequently develop a greater interest in this important area in the art of printing.
