The Process of Making IC-CARD

Jul. 27, 2010 (Tue) - Oct. 17, 2010 (Sun)
10:00 - 18:00

IC-CARDS have become an integral part of our lifestyles today, and include smart cards that are inserted into automated wickets in order to board trains and identification cards that are used at businesses and schools. For this year's Process of Making exhibition, we have focused on an IC-CARD that is extremely popular with children.

You might ask why the Print Museum, Tokyo has chosen to consider IC-CARDS for an exhibition, but in fact not only the surface of an IC-CARD has been printed, but printing technology has also been used in the manufacture of the card itself. To find out more, check out the exhibition!
In order to spark the interest of children in the exhibition, we have chosen to feature the BEY POINT CARD, a contactless IC-CARD now used in the wildly popular BEYBLADE METAL FUSION game produced by TOMY COMPANY, Ltd. Exhibits and videos in the exhibition demonstrate the process by which the BEY POINT CARD is made.
Both parents and children will enjoy learning about the process of making IC- CARD and the world of printing. Bring your friends along, too!
